Groote Eylandt

Problem: The rising cost of diesel and the understanding that access to mining royalties will not always be available has motivated them to publish there forward thinking 15 Year Strategic Plan (2012 –2027), which outlines its vision of creating sustainable communities across Groote Eylandt while it still enjoys a funding stream from the mining of the island’s resources.

Wiring in both communities was single phase, which made it potentially difficult to get balanced power distribution.
